Ever since launch Nintendo has focused on making the Switch a gaming platform first and foremost, holding off on adding multimedia apps such as video and music streaming services until a later point. Soon that will be changing, however, at least for users of Japan’s Niconico video service.

Thanks to a tweet from the service’s official account, we know the app will hit the Japanese eShop on July 13th for free.

If you’re curious, you can always download it regardless of region thanks to the lack of a region lock on the Switch.

We’ll be sure to let you know when more media apps start arriving!
