Back during the days of the original Splatoon, crossover DLC weapons and gear were only features fans could dream of. Woomy man, we even got some fakes that looked official. The fan favorite F.L.U.D.D. from Super Mario Sunshine was one and it could definitely find a home in the world of Splatoon, even if Nintendo might have forgotten its existence. (Ouch.) We’re still hoping, even if the Ink Jet special is a little reminiscent of F.L.U.D.D.

If you’re still holding out for some sort of integration of Mario into Splatoon, then we’re going to suggest that you add a video of Charles Martinet giving Turf War a “let’s-a go” to your YouTube watchlist. BlockHead Gaming managed to record Charles Martinet while he was out and about on the E3 show floor. (Just because you’re playing as an Inkling doesn’t mean you can’t do some Mario voice work — in fact, it might help you win a match!)

Before the footage rolls though, Mr. Martinet gets a customized intro from Off The Hook! Who knew that Marina was a fan? Cute and fantastic work BlockHead Gaming!
