This August, Japanese Nintendo Switch owners will get their hands on Monster Hunter XX. A port of the 3DS game that released in Japan back on March 18th, which is itself an enhanced version of Generations, it promises to upgrade visuals but have much of the same content.

Now, thanks to GaijinHunter, we know the game will run at 30fps on Switch in both docked and handheld mode. While it definitely seems like Capcom could get a higher frame rate on the system, a possible reason behind the lock is the planned crossplay between systems. Still, we have assurances that the game will run smoothly on the Switch all the same.

Monster Hunter XX will launch for the Nintendo Switch in Japan on August 25th. A western release date of either version has yet to be confirmed by Capcom.
