Nintendo has been dealing with a big Wii U problem these last few years. What about this year? Well, that situation made a full 180. The Nintendo Switch has been selling out non-stop across the world, and when you combine that with special editions of the system in Japan, you have a perfect storm of sites crashing, along with scalpers running amok.

Nintendo of Japan has released a statement apologizing for the short supply of units, promising to increase production over the next few months. Not only that; it’ll be making more of the Splatoon 2 bundle that we’d love to see be available in North America next month as well.

You can check out the Google Translate of the statement down below:

“Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our products.

The “Nintendo Switch main unit” which we released on March 3, 2017 has continued to be in short supply in the entire domestic market since its launch.

We apologize sincerely apologize to our customers and dealers for their inconvenience.
Currently we continue to ship every week and we are working to deliver as many as one product to our customers. Also, in July and August, we will increase shipment volume this month, including continued shipment of “Nintendo Switch Splatoon 2 set”.

For autumn and beyond, we will continue to work to ensure that as many products as possible can be delivered to our customers towards the end of the year, such as further strengthening our production system, we appreciate your understanding.”

If you’re still looking for a Switch, this news might just be the answer to your prayers. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for you!
