Despite apparently being “very close to completion” back in July 2015, Pikmin 4 has been a no-show at many Nintendo events since. After another missed appearance at this year’s E3, Eurogamer asked Shigeru Miyamoto about the status of the game.

In a jovial response, Miyamoto stated:

“I’ve been told not to share anything about this from PR, but I can tell you it is progressing.”

It’s worth noting that the imminent Hey! Pikmin isn’t being developed in-house, instead Yoshi’s New Island developer Arzest is tackling that 3DS spin-off.

We’ll be sure to bring you news once Pikmin 4 finally materializes.
