When it comes to indie hits, Edmund McMillen has consistently knocked it out of the park, with his creations Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac becoming beloved for their simplicity.

Now, his next game has been announced – The End is Nigh, a 2D sidescrolling platformer co-developed by Tyler Glaiel. Players control Ash, one of the few “things” that survived a mysterious apocalypse, across over 600 levels and 12+ chapters. Check out the (NSFW) teaser below:

The End is Nigh really is nigh, releasing on Steam in just over a month on July 12th. A Nintendo Switch release will come later.
