The strongest supporter of the Nintendo Switch eShop since launch has been Hamster, known for their Arcade Archive ports of Neo Geo classics. Despite almost weekly releases, the company will be expanding its selection even more this summer. As reported by Japanese Nintendo, Hamster held a livestream broadcast via streaming service NicoNico yesterday, where they announced Data East titles would be the next to head to Nintendo’s latest system.

The only confirmed game right now is Magical Drop, the first in a long-running puzzle series, but the library of potential additions is significant. Data East is responsible for iconic gems like Karate Champ, Joe & Mac, Burger Time, WindJammers and Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja (“are you a bad enough dude to rescue the president”, anyone?)

Also launching this summer are two more confirmed Neo Geo games – Fatal Fury 2 and Metal Slug 2. While a western release for these games has not yet been confirmed, Hamster has been consistent in bringing over titles. Keep checking back for further announcements.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
