Sonic fans, clear your calendar for August 15th! Sonic Mania’s release date has been confirmed thanks to the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account. Just this morning, a trailer was dropped with the release date closing out the video.

Definitely check out the entire announcement as there are some super cute animation segments featuring Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. Plus, the little reference to Sonic’s scrapped rabbit form is a funny little nod to the blue guy’s origin.

While the game is available to pre-order digitally on PS4, Steam and Xbox One, it has yet to be added to the Nintendo Switch’s eShop. When it goes live we’ll announce that here on Nintendo Wire. If you’re a physical copy fan, the closest way to own anything from the game is by picking up the collector’s edition. You’ll receive a download code, but you’ll also get some neat Sonic memorabilia to show off. The bundle is still available on Amazon — just ignore the placeholder date of August 31st.
