Rejoice Sonic fans, because we’ve just gotten a new look at Sonic Forces! While the gameplay revealed at SXSW focused on Modern Sonic’s boosting and constant action, this gives us a full run-through of the latest Green Hill Zone by Classic Sonic. Keep an eye out for some animations straight out of Sonic CD, the replacement of all the Zone’s water with sand, and potential multiple pathways.
There’s definitely something new to spot though. Right around the 1:27 mark Sonic performs what looks to be the Drop Dash set to debut in Sonic Mania this summer. If so that’s definitely some great consistency between the games. Most surprising though is the absence of Green Hill’s recognizable theme music. As iconic as it is it might be for the best, seeing as it seems to come with Sonic everywhere he goes, but let us know what you think of this version.
