The Touhou Project has been running for a long while now, with the first game releasing in Japan for PC-98 computers in 1996. Typically featuring bullet hell gameplay, anime characters and fantastic music they’ve since went on to capture the hearts of a niche group of fans the world over.

That’s not to say the franchise hasn’t had its spin-offs, with various fighting games being the most prominent. There’s also a series of roguelikes that were exclusively released in Japan up until last year, when Touhou Genso Wanderer arrived on western PS4 and Vita systems.

Now it looks like the game could be on its way to the Switch, with developers Aqua Style releasing a tweet showing a test build running on the system. While they are quick to say it isn’t guaranteed, they do praise the device for being interesting and fun hardware.

We’ll be sure to let you know if the game is confirmed for a western Switch release.
