UPDATE: Nintendo of America has unveiled the American version of Judd’s small kitty counterpart’s name in Splatoon 2 via Twitter. It’s time for the world to say hello to Li’l Judd! (How appropriate.)

Splatoon 2’s cast is slowly but surely stealing the hearts of fans, with an enigmatic second judge cat being one of the most endearing newcomers. Appearing in the sequel alongside the veteran lazy Judd, we’ve only caught glimpses of them in the trailers and during the testfire event.

Now the Japanese Splatoon Twitter account has given us some more details. In that region, the new judge be aptly called Kojudge-kun, which will almost certainly be localized differently. Not only that but despite Kojudge-Kun’s cute appearance, they’re eagerly waiting to seize Judd’s position.

As for his origins, we’ll have to wait and see, but given the revelations made about Judd in the original Splatoon it’s sure to be something bizarre.

Splatoon 2 will launch sometime this year for Nintendo Switch.
