Players starting up Donkey Kong 64 for the first time may have been in for a surprise. This was the long awaited return of DK and Diddy, alongside a host of other familiar and brand new Kongs. What could go wrong?

That’s right, there’s a Yooka-Laylee rap and it’s both everything it needs to be to be great and terrible. This kind of attention to their legacy is one of the many things I love about this team, and as I spent plenty of time as a kid trying to memorize the DK Rap, it’s about time I get to work…
