Atlus just held an event in Japan sharing news on upcoming titles. On top of trailers for Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology and Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2, the developer also gave the latest updates on one of its longest running franchises – Shin Megami Tensei.

First up, Japan will be getting an updated version of 2009’s DS RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey for 3DS. While a trailer was shown (see below), very little information is available. What we do know is that it uses the original game as a base, with extra content being added and other features making it easier to play. An example given is the ability to save at any point during dungeon exploration.

Deep Strange Journey will launch in Japan this Fall. A western release has yet to be confirmed.

Nintendo Switch owners also got thrown a bone, albeit a very vague one. At the end of the event Atlus showed a new image, depicting some desolation:

We’ll be sure to bring you more on both of these games as it’s made available.
