Are you a fan of obscure action RPGs for the Super Famicom that never got a Western release? Then it’s your lucky day, as the legendary Seiken Densetsu 3 has been teased for a Nintendo Switch release.

The franchise’s official Twitter account posted a short clip of the game being played with Joy-Cons, all but confirming that the game would be hitting the platform sometime in the future. The gameplay looks exactly the same as it did originally, so it’s unclear if the game is hitting Virtual Console or being released as a standalone like the recent Hamster Corporation games were.

For those not in the know, SD3 is (as the name implies) the third entry in the Seiken Densetsu (literally “Legend of the Sacred Sword”) series, better known in the west as the Mana series. SD3 is the direct follow-up to the SNES classic Secret of Mana, and is long respected among those who have played it as one of the finest RPGs out there. Given the Switch’s region-free capabilities, regardless of whether it receives a proper localization or not this may be the first opportunity for those in North America and Europe to play through a classic.
