The Nintendo Switch is already off to a fantastic start, selling nearly 2 million units in less than a month. With a fantastic launch week behind the company, it looks like Nintendo is ready to double down on that success by doubling production from 8 million units to 16 million units over the next fiscal year according to a new report from The Wall Street Journal.
To put that number into perspective, the Wii U has only sold around 13.5 million units in its entire four and a half year run making Nintendo’s plans to create 16 million Switch consoles in a year’s time that much more impressive. While Nintendo has yet to release official sales numbers globally at this time, you can check out our breakdown of estimated sales numbers here.
