In February of last year a new game from vBlank, the developer of Retro City Rampage, was announced – Shakedown Hawaii. It was originally scheduled for 3DS, but now it has been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, too.

A spiritual successor to the top-down GTA inspired 2012 indie hit, Shakedown Hawaii upgrades the visuals and sound effects to the 16-bit era. There will also be elements of “purchasing” businesses and building a criminal empire. Check out the latest trailer below:

The game is scheduled to launch first on Switch this April for an estimated $15. We’ll be sure to bring you more coverage as it’s made available!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
