While those of us in the west are waiting for the Nindies Showcase presentation on the 28th to learn what eShop games are on the way to the Nintendo Switch, a recent article by Famitsu has confirmed a sizeable amount of games heading to Japan’s eShop on launch day.

Many of them are NeoGeo ports by Hamster, a company known by PS4 owners for its Arcade Archives series of conversions. A surprise title is Blaster Master Zero from Inti Creates, the studio behind the Azure Striker Gunvolt series, which is a follow-up to the classic NES game by Sunsoft that was originally announced for Nintendo 3DS only.

Check out the full list of Japanese eShop games releasing March 3rd below:

  • Snipperclips: Cut It Out, Together! (Nintendo)
  • ACA NeoGeo The King of Fighters ‘98 (Hamster)
  • ACA NeoGeo Waku Waku 7 (Hamster)
  • ACA NeoGeo Shock Trooopers (Hamster)
  • ACA NeoGeo World Heroes Perfect (Hamster)
  • ACA NeoGeo Metal Slug 3 (Hamster)
  • VOEZ (Flyhigh Works)
  • Othello (Arc System Works)
  • New Frontier Days: Founding Pioneers (Arc System Works)
  • Soratobu BunBunBaan (Poisoft)
  • Soldam: Blooming Declaration (City Connection)
  • Blaster Master Zero (Inti Creates)

Hopefully some of these games will be heading west, too! We’ll be sure to bring you coverage of the February 28th video presentation as it’s made available.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
