Among the American Switch launch lineup I have my eyes on two games in particular: Breath of the Wild and Super Bomberman R. This return to manic multiplayer and explosive competition has me hopeful, with the older games being some of my favorites for party times.

The opening cinematic for the game’s story mode is up, and it definitely gives off a Saturday morning anime vibe. The dubbing feels just a little off at times, occasionally cringe-worthy, but I do find myself laughing at the overall cheesiness.

With eight Bomber-siblings, each with a singular trait to call their own, and a villainous conquer sweeping the galaxy, it’s going to be a battle of bombs and bravado. Here’s hoping the game keeps that B-movie feel throughout.

Super Bomberman R releases on March 3rd alongside the Switch. You can pre-order it on Amazon today.
