While Yooka-Laylee may be the most well-known 3D platformer throwback releasing in the coming months, Sumo Digital’s Snake Pass is capturing much of the same aesthetic. Having a more physics and puzzle oriented twist, the game has you wrap your slithery self around levels, solving puzzles and finding secrets.

The Rare-aesthetic is only taken further by an announcement made earlier today – video game music legend David Wise will be scoring the game. You’ll know his signature tunes from the likes of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Battletoads and Diddy Kong Racing. You can check out some snippets of the soundtrack below:

As announced last week, Snake Pass will be heading to Nintendo Switch in Q1 2017.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
