Those worried about sports games coming to Nintendo Switch seem to have less and less reason to worry as time goes on. In an interview with GameReactor, EA’s Peter Moore has confirmed that the previously announced FIFA game for Nintendo Switch is, in fact, FIFA 18. Moore also explained that the version of the game for Nintendo Switch will be a custom built version.

“What you have will be a custom built version for the Nintendo Switch from the FIFA development team in Vancouver.”

– Peter Moore, Chief Operating Officer, EA

It’s likely that this custom built version will feature controls and features geared towards the Switch’s unique features, like single Joy-Con controls and support for Switch-to-Switch local multiplayer.

The interview also confirms that FIFA 18 will be launching later in 2017.
