For anybody excited about the next update to Shovel Knight, we’ve got some good news! It looks like Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment will both be releasing in April.

While this hasn’t been officially confirmed by any Nintendo source, PlayStation posted on its blog earlier today that we can expect the updates in April. It can be assumed that they’re talking about their own platform, sure, but as this is just a month after the Switch is released, and with Shovel Knight (and both these upcoming updates) having been confirmed for the Switch just a week ago, we think it’s safe to assume that this news stretches across all platforms.

This seems to be supported by the fact that some parts of the PlayStation blog post seem to be taken straight from the Switch blog post on Yacht Club Games.

Alongside Specter of Torment will come the Body Swap Mode, which lets players switch the body types of Shovel Knight, Shield Knight, Black Knight, Enchantress, and all the Knights of the Order of No Quarter. These releases, plus the promised Battle Mode and King Knight campaign that are coming later in 2017, are shaping Shovel Knight up to be a continued success in the coming year.
