Capcom has announced a brand new iteration of the one that took the world by storm, Street Fighter 2! While this game already has plenty of revisions and the series has grown and evolved considerably since its release, I still can’t help but be excited to see what kind of unique play opportunities can come from the Switch’s design.

Adding in two “new” characters in the form of Evil Ryu and Violent Ken, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will allow players to take on the CPU together in what sounds to be some interesting new modes. Likewise, the game will allow for HD visuals from the fine folks at UDON Entertainment, longtime artists for various Street Fighter and Capcom products, as well as some classic, pixelated options to capture that SNES feel.

More info on Ultra Street Fighter II will come in the near future, with producer Yoshinori Ono being on hand to show it off on the upcoming Treehouse Live presentation.
