Nintendo has revealed a new IP based around long-distance punching. Titled ARMS, this game will use a Joy-con in each hand in a “thumbs up pose,” allowing players to punch in real time for the characters to mimic the action. Tilting the controllers will allow movement, both of the player’s character and their punches.

Featuring a colorful cast of characters, including Spring Man and Ribbon Girl, the game emphasizes sensibilities of fighting games along with the necessity of aim you’d need in a shooter. Called “fast and active” by its producer, the boxing-like game looks like an enjoyable means to give the Switch’s unique controls a test run.

Expect more on ARMS when it releases this “spring.”
