Despite Ubisoft being adamant the game is still in the works, we’ve seen startlingly little of Beyond Good and Evil 2 ever since it was announced way back in May 2008. Today, however, Michel Ancel got the rumor mill spinning once more with the post of an image on Instagram…

Somewhere in system 4 … – Thanks #ubisoft for making this possible !

Appearing to feature a younger Pey’j quite literally piggybacking on a mysterious new character, it’s the caption that really makes it likely this is a Beyond Good and Evil tease – system 4 is where Hillys, the setting of the first game, is located.

This may be exciting for Nintendo fans if a rumor from March rings true, which suggests Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be an NX exclusive partially funded by Nintendo (à la Bayonetta 2). We’ll just have to wait and see where this potential sequel takes us, but for now it’s good to see it seems to be on track, and creator Michel Ancel is still on good terms with Ubisoft.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
