One of the most common comparisons people bring up when discussing the art style of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is that it looks strikingly like something out of a Studio Ghibli animation, with its expansive fields, subdued but colorful palette, and overall aesthetic being undoubtedly similar to the renowned Japanese studio’s works.

Now one fan, Matt Vince, has decided to take it one step further – by making a short animated movie trailer that applies the Studio Ghibli style to the land of Hyrule. Check it out:

While the motion is noticeably minimal, that’s not exactly a bad thing, as many Ghibli movies have gorgeous quiet moments where you just take in the world.

A Zelda movie by the famous studio would be an amazing experience, but until Nintendo finally realizes what a fantastic collaboration that would be, you can check out Matt Vince’s prior Ghibli-themed Zelda posters on his Tumblr.
