When it comes to celebrating anniversaries, Nintendo’s not one to disappoint. Whether it’s an entire year of Luigi or the resurgence of Kid Icarus, it loves to honor the games that make it the company we love.

While this is nowhere near the level of those and others, it is perhaps a pure and fitting means to look back at fifteen years of one of its most relaxing games ever created. Animal Crossing is something special, all at once a personal town to stroll through and a shared experience to visit friends. For everyone who’s ever had a favorite villager, and to those who know that Saturday night means K.K. Slider, and all of you who’ve ridden the rails with Rover all those years ago to bring them to right here and now: Nintendo’s shared a brief, yet sweet, video with us.

Alongside this video, we’ve also captured the special image from the closing as a wallpaper for all of you to enjoy. With series staples like Tom Nook and holiday characters like (my personal favorite) Jingle, it’s perfect for casual fans and card collectors alike. Happy 15th anniversary, Animal Crossing, and thanks for being a home away from home!

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
