In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, amiibo can be used to unlock ingredients for smoothies and potions, as well as clothing items that Zelda can wear on her adventures. However, obtaining these items isn’t entirely straightforward. Read on for more details!
What amiibo are compatible with Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
According to the official Nintendo webpage in Japan, all Zelda series amiibo released thus far are compatible with The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This includes all Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, 30th Anniversary, Super Smash Bros, and Link’s Awakening amiibo.
It is confirmed that only Zelda series amiibo are compatible. No drops will be give for any other series of amiibo!
When can I scan amiibo in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you can start scanning amiibo once you get access to the game’s world map. Luckily, it’s pretty quick! The amiibo scan option can be found at the main pause menu.
At the beginning of the game, you only receive ingredients from amiibo drops. These ingredients will allow you to create smoothies or potions in the game which should help you tremendously.
However, around half way through the game, amiibo can start dropping some more interesting items, specifically three amiibo specific costumes for Zelda to wear. Check out our costumer section below for more info on these costumes.
How often can I scan amiibo in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom you can scan amiibo three times each day. After that, the game will alert you to try again tomorrow!
What amiibo clothing can you get in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
To unlock the costumes listed below, you must first reach the mid-game point in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Three exclusive costumes can be obtained using amiibo figures: the Black Cat Costume, the Blue Attire, and the Red Tunic.
- Black Cat Costume: Unlock this by scanning any of the following amiibo: Ganondorf, Guardian, Bokoblin, or any of the four Champion amiibo. This outfit gives Zelda the ability to talk to cats found throughout the world.
- Blue Attire: This costume, a nod to Zelda’s classic outfits from Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, can be unlocked by scanning any Princess Zelda amiibo. This outfit appears to be completely cosmetic.
- Red Tunic: A tribute to Link’s iconic Red Tunic from Ocarina of Time, this costume is unlocked by scanning any Link amiibo. Once again, this appears to be a cosmetic costume only.
What items drop from amiibo in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
In addition to the costumes, scanning Zelda amiibo in Echoes of Wisdom grants access to useful items for crafting smoothies or potions. These items allow Zelda to enhance her attributes, providing protection against specific attacks, extending her underwater swimming time, or helping her endure extreme hot or cold environments—similar to the recipe system in Breath of the Wild.

Are there any new amiibo in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
Unfortunately, no new amiibo have been confirmed for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom so far. With the September 26th release date fast approaching, it seems unlikely that we will see any new releases before launch. However, Nintendo has chosen to re-release the Toon Zelda and Link’s Awakening Link amiibo just in time for the game’s launch.

As mentioned earlier, all Legend of Zelda series amiibo are compatible with Echoes of Wisdom. Pre-orders for the Link amiibo from Link’s Awakening and Toon Zelda are currently live at Best Buy. Additionally, Best Buy has amiibo for Zelda and Ganondorf from Tears of the Kingdom, Wolf Link, and the Guardian available for purchase. (Nintendo Wire is a Best Buy affiliate.)
