They say geek culture is mainstream, and yet we still suffer every day of our lives. And by “we,” I mean “weebs.” We are ridiculed every day on this planet merely for enjoying media where a guy trips into a woman, causing her to slap him and go “eek, you perv!” in an exaggeratedly high pitch, and we laugh because clearly this is the height of comedy no matter how many times we see it. But while we can usually stay strong with our usual cadre of catgirl figurines and dakis (if you have to ask what a daki is, get outta here!), it is an especially grim day for otaku culture, for Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royale are all coming… to Xbox.

That’s right, Xbox! The gaijin (T/N note: gaijin means foreigner) console! A console usually as anathemic to JRPGs as I am to women! And they’re coming to PS5, too! The fact that all three Persona games (the numbers 1 and 2 do not exist in my mind) would make the jump to competitors and not the Nintendo Switch is appalling. We, the fans of 任天堂, are uniquely oppressed in this.. And people have begged Atlus for Persona games on Switch on basically every tweet they’ve made over the past five years, so they have to know, unless the social media manager sighed and muted the phrase “Persona 5 Switch” long ago. Think of how we anime fans feel, Atlus! On Switch we have no representation. Except Fire Emblem: Three Houses. And Tales of Vesperia. And Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which as we all know is the greatest video game of all-time.

We cannot stand for this, my nakama (T/N note: nakama means like “friend” and “comrade”). Let us raise our mall katanas high and charge! Atlus will hear our cries! … Unless they announce ports during a Direct soon. In which case, I suppose I can stay my blade… heh… but they better watch out. My blade is strong… but my bushido is stronger…
