We always wonder “what might have been,” especially in regards to cancelled or stopgapped game projects. Case in point: Headcannon, one of the developers behind the excellent Sonic Mania, pitched a Darkwing Duck game to Capcom that was never picked up.
The game was styled a bit like Ducktales Remastered, in that it was pitched as a sequel to the NES DWD game featuring the original voice cast and some of the writers from the comic. And while Capcom and Disney didn’t express interest in producing it, Headcannon’s demo has been posted online, and it looks great:
We can only hope that another Darkwing Duck game comes along as some point, so we can all get dangerous in St. Canard again.
