We’ve known half of the Switch Online Service NES lineup for a while now, and likewise that various games would receive new features. I got most excited for online Dr. Mario, but according to Nintendo of Europe, it sounds like Nintendo’s bringing online to more than just head-to-head titles.
You'll be able to play Super Mario Bros. 3 online when the #NintendoSwitchOnline paid membership service launches this September, and relive the classic NES game that brought renowned power-ups such as Raccoon Mario to the world of Super Mario Bros.! pic.twitter.com/LBCAF1LTK8

Super Mario Bros. 3, aka one of the greatest games ever (and where Mario discovered the joys of being a raccoon), will also have some kind of online compatibility. Whether this will translate to a back and forth two player mode, leaderboards, or something more has yet to be stated, but it’s good to know that we can expect a little something new in most of these classics.
Look forward to more info as we come closer and closer to the Switch Online Service release next month.
