It’s looking like Nintendo’s got more than just the Octo Expansion planned for Splatoon 2 this summer based on a new bit of datamined info from the game. A new type of Ranked battle has had its ruleset outlined and thanks to some teamwork from a few intrepid Inklings on Twitter we have a way of somewhat seeing it in action.

This Rocket based mode seems interesting, tasking teams with fueling up a rocket that needs to continuously be pushed towards the enemy team’s spawn by the look of things. We previously reported on these present pieces of data last year so to see what them somewhat in motion could be a sign that they’re official debut is just around the corner.
