Nearly two months ago we reported on the Wall Street Journal’s story of Nintendo re-entering the world of Hollywood cinema. At the time, Nintendo did not officially confirm a deal with Illumination Entertainment (Despicable Me, Minions), but that may change soon.
As reported by Japanese Nintendo, President Kimishima was recently interviewed by the Kyoto Shimbun and commented about the rumored deal. All that Kimishima would say is that “he hopes to make an agreement with a partner and to make an announcement soon.”
With Nintendo having a stellar 2017, it looks like 2018 is on track to have the same momentum.
