We’re only two weeks away from the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remake, so Nintendo is getting people ready by detailing what steps they’ll need to take if they’re looking to grab a copy at midnight from Nintendo New York or San Francisco. Over on its official website, there are pages set up for each specific store, and it notes that you will need to make a reservation to attend the event. That’s to be expected, especially since Nintendo’s retail outlets aren’t exactly big locations.
For New York, you’ll be able to make reservations starting October 26th, 2026, at 6 p.m. ET. Obviously, the event is first-come, first-serve, though you will need to use Nintendo’s “Warp Pass” system. That simply requires you have a Nintendo network account, which you likely already do if you play Nintendo Switch games online. San Francisco patrons will be able to make reservations at 3 p.m. PT on the same day.
The events, themselves, take place at the same time, technically. On the East Coast, Nintendo will be selling copies between 12 a.m. – 2 a.m. ET on November 5th, 2026. On the West Coast, it will be between 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. on November 4th, 2026. It doesn’t seem like you’ll need to pre-order the game to receive a copy, but Nintendo will have additional units of the 40th Anniversary Switch 2 system, the 40th Anniversary Pro Controller, and the 40th Anniversary carrying case/screen protector. If you’ve held out this long, you might just get lucky when the event kicks off.
