Color me jealous (again!!!), because French Nintendo Switch 2 owners are getting one hell of a bonus for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. French retailer Micromania revealed on social media yesterday that lucky shoppers who attend the midnight launch for Ocarina of Time at select locations will include a “Replica N64 Box” to house the Switch 2 game case in. While similar in idea to the previously revealed slipcover in Canada, this is actually a larger box that mostly recreates the PAL packaging seen in Europe.

If you can’t attend the midnight launch, fear not. Customers who pre-order the game from the list of participating locations will also receive the box when they get their copies. That goes for web orders too, so I imagine availability will be extremely limited. I’ve never even owned a PAL console and I want this, so I’m wondering why Nintendo of America didn’t create a collector’s edition with something similar. Imagine having a replica gold cartridge?

The following Micromania stores will be hosting midnight launch events if you happen to be in France:

  • Antibes
  • Bordeaux City Centre
  • Lille-Béthune
  • Lyon Victor Hugo
  • Nice Doctor
  • Paris Beaugrenelle
  • Paris Caumartin
  • Paris General Leclerc
  • Reims City Centre
  • Rouen Gros Horloge
  • Toulouse St Rome

Micromania isn’t the only retailer hosting midnight launch events at select locations. Last week Best Buy announced that the retailer will be hosting their own midnight launch too. While Best Buy won’t be offering any pre-order bonuses, they will have additional copies of the Ocarina of Time-themed Nintendo Switch 2 and Pro Controller available for purchase. Though if you’re looking for a better price point on just the game, then pre-ordering your copy at Amazon or Walmart will be the better option due to their $10 off deal.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be releasing only on Nintendo Switch 2 on Thursday, November 5th, 2026.
