Sony Pictures debuted a new clip of Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil film during the latest State of Play presentation.

Just under three minutes long, the video shows a full scene of protagonist Bryan Hodukavich (played by Austin Abrams) sprinting down a snow-covered street as a horde of zombies dive from tall buildings either side of him.

The infected creatures explode upon impact, painting the street the blood and guts as Bryan narrowly avoids them. Once the chaos ends, Bryan looks back, armed with a machine gun, and has a realization.

“You guys aren’t coming back?” he says aloud. “You can die.”

Resident Evil will be released in theaters on September 18th, 2026. It is co-written by Zach Cregger and Shay Hatten, and stars Austin Abrams, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, Paul Walter Hauser, and Jonno Wilson.

Fans can get an exclusive popcorn bag designed to look like Bryan’s organ transplant bag at participating Regal cinemas in the US.
