We’re mere days away from the official price increase of the Nintendo Switch 2, so Nintendo is trying to get ahead of the change by announcing two new Switch 2 bundles for later this year. Coming in late September, the same Mario Kart World bundle from the console’s launch will be repackaged for $549.99, and include a digital copy of the game along with a 3-month Nintendo Switch Online individual membership. As a press release from Nintendo states, this is a savings of “$37.98” when compared to buying everything separately.
On October 22nd, 2026, fans who wait can then opt for a Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle, which is slightly cheaper. Retailing for $529.99, this bundle packs in a digital copy of Nintendo’s latest sports mini-game collection as well as the same 3-month Switch Online individual membership. That’s a savings of “$27.98” compared to buying individually! How delightful!
While these two bundles are, indeed, savings over buying everything separately, it’s really bizarre to be reporting on a new bundle pack that’s more expensive than basically the same thing from a year prior. When the Switch 2 launched, the Mario Kart World bundle retailed for $499.99. It was lacking the 3-month Switch Online membership, but was otherwise a decent enough deal considering the MSRP of the Switch 2 was $449.99 at launch, and Mario Kart World was $79.99.
There’s likely nothing Nintendo can do at the moment to make these bundles cheaper, so I guess this is the best we’re going to get for a bit. Considering every other console has also increased in price, it winds up making the Switch 2 still one of the cheaper options for gaming on the market.
