Publisher Dotemu has announced the second part of its DLC plans for last year’s excellent brawler Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Titled “The Siege of Castle Doom,” details are currently mum, but it promises to add a brand-new mode to the game alongside two new playable characters (which probably won’t be Doctor Doom, but likely Fantastic Four members). If I had to guess, Doom’s Castle will be a survival mode similar to what Streets of Rage 4 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge received in their respective DLC packs.
While the press release notes a Fall 2026 release date, it’s obvious that Dotemu is timing this as a lead in to December’s Avengers: Doomsday. With a renewed focus on Doctor Doom from the wider public, this DLC is a perfect way to hype people up for that film while also expanding on the solid core that is Cosmic Invasion. I really dug the DLC Shredder’s Revenge got, which took the randomized nature of Streets of Rage 4’s survival mode and added in distinct levels with challenge stipulations. I wonder if Castle Doom will go even further in that regard.

You can currently get Marvel Cosmic Invasion on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. There’s currently one DLC pack available which adds Cyclops and The Thing to the roster.
