According to an updated employee data page, Nintendo has added a little over 300 permanent jobs to its roster during the previous fiscal year. Measured between April 2025 and March 2026, Nintendo’s employee numbers grew from 5,630 to 5,938. It’s not a tremendous surge of people, but it’s a rarity in an industry that otherwise closes down studios after games launch.
Breaking down demographics, Nintendo of Japan has 2,348 male employees and 736 female employees. The division is much closer at Nintendo of America, which has 955 men and 648 women. Nintendo of Europe consists of 671 men and 480 women, while Nintendo of Australia barely cracks 100 overall employees with 47 of them being male while 53 are female.

The employee data page also reveals some other important figures about working at Nintendo. For one, the average tenure for employees is around 14.6 years, which is impressive. Turnover rates are also relatively low in each region, with Japan’s being about 2.3% while North America’s is 4%. Australia is a bit higher with 16.2%, but that could also be because Nintendo of Australia doesn’t have nearly as many full-time employees.
