Today’s Xbox Summer Showcase featured the long-awaited return of a familiar purple dragon. That’s right, Spyro is taking flight in his first brand new game in almost 20 years.
Activision and Toys For Bob’s Spyro: A Realm Beyond looks to introduce a brand new villain in a colorful world that perfectly fits the pastel fantasy look of the original Insomniac Spyro trilogy. Interestingly, Spyro looks to have longer wings and free flight gameplay introduced in the Legend of Spyro trilogy. It sounds like Tom Kenny has returned to voice Spyro again as well.
Toys For Bob did stellar work with the Reignited Trilogy back in 2018 and they’re finally getting the opportunity to develop a new Spyro title. Spyro: A Realm Beyond will release on all current-gen consoles, including Switch 2, and PC via Steam in Spring 2027.
