With the Xbox floodgates officially open for ports to other consoles, it’s not really surprising to hear that 2023 sci-fi open world game Starfield might be headed to Nintendo Switch 2. This is according to a rating found on the Taiwanese Entertainment Software Rating Board website, which was spotted by Universo Nintendo recently. If true, the game will release nearly three years after its Xbox debut, which recently lost console exclusivity to the PlayStation 5 port that came out this month.

In the past, a rumor like this would sound ludicrous, but times have changed. Microsoft has previously ported The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to Switch and Switch 2, and even recently released Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition for Nintendo’s latest console. Future games have already been announced, so this rumor seems likely.

Whether the game will do well or not is anyone’s guess. According to recent reports, Starfield’s PS5 debut was met with only 140,000 sales for its first week. Considering how successful the PS5 has been, that doesn’t bode well for a Switch 2 version’s prospects.
