March 2026 might have a ton of heavy hitters when it comes to new games, but Nintendo isn’t slowing down with its Switch Online apps. After having launched the Virtual Boy app for NSO subscribers a few weeks back, the service is set to receive two more games to its lineup of software. Both Mario’s Tennis and Mario Clash will join NSO on March 10th, 2026, finally bringing Mario’s official outings on the system to the service.

I owned both of these back in the day and Mario’s Tennis is the clear winner here. It’s a pretty solid interpretation of tennis, even if it’s fairly bare bones. This was the first time Nintendo toyed with a Mario sports game (if we exclude go karts), and it was fun enough. I think the 3D effect was neat, but without any multiplayer component, the game kind of fizzles out after while.

Mario Clash, on the other hand, is something of a remake of the original Mario Bros. arcade game. Set on two planes with one in the background, you control Mario through 100 levels where he battles different enemies to amass a high score. It’s the purest form of arcade action, though it sadly doesn’t do much else. I don’t quite remember if it had a puzzle mode, but again, without multiplayer, there’s not a lot of staying power.

Surprisingly, this month’s NSO drop isn’t just Virtual Boy games. Nintendo will also be adding Mario Vs. Donkey Kong to the GBA app, which is a pretty big get. While the Switch remake from 2024 is very good and even includes some extra levels, the GBA original is great in its own right. I was never a big fan of the pre-rendered graphics, but acting as a spiritual successor to the magnificent 1994 Game Boy Donkey Kong game, it’s loaded with all the same puzzles and platforming challenges you could ask for. It’s well worth playing, though you could opt for the Switch version.

At any rate, this month is light on titles, but chock-full of Mario.
