Capcom has announced an unexpected promotional tie-in for Resident Evil’s 30th anniversary next year.

The legendary horror series will join forces with Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal in 2026, bringing “exclusive collaboration merchandise.”

Bizarrely, the announcement was made by popular Resident Evil Village antagonist, Lady Dimitrescu, in a video shared across official Resident Evil channels.

No information was shared regarding what the actual products will be.

Voice actress Maggie Robertson – and by extension, her character, Lady Dimitrescu – appear to have become spokespeople for the series as of late. Robertson hosted the recent “Road to Requiem” promotional video, which saw announcements of a Resident Evil Requiem-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller and amiibo figure.

GamesRadar+ has also announced that Robertson will host this year’s Golden Joystick Awards. Voting is now open for the “Ultimate Game of the Year,” with Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Bananza included in the 2025 nominees.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Requiem will all launch simultaneously on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27th, 2026.
