Ahead of its Tokyo Game Show appearance next week, Capcom has released a new trailer for Street Fighter 6’s next DLC fighter: C. Viper. Hailing from Street Fighter 4, C. Viper has been out of action for quite some time, and since she sports a rather radical redesign, players were fearing that she might have a completely different playstyle. If this trailer is anything to go by, however, longtime fans have nothing to fear.
As the trailer showcases, C. Viper still employs heavy zoning techniques with her Seismic Hammer attack. Used to dictate where the opponents moves, she was one of the more technical characters in Street Fighter 4 and that looks set to continue in 6. She obviously has some new techniques, the least of which is a sort of shield she can deploy from her hand, but this trailer brought back some memories of online bouts in SF4. I love that you can still jump in the air and pop Burning Kick to catch foes in a cross-up.
As for the finer details of her playstyle, it’s hard to deduce from such a short trailer. It won’t be long before C. Viper is playable in Street Fighter 6, however, as she is set to release on October 15th, 2025. She’ll be the second character from the game’s third season pass, which will continue with Alex and Ingrid. Considering the popularity and success Street Fighter 6 has had, I would anticipate at least a fourth season in the future.
