Are you getting Donkey Kong Country Returns HD? Try out the demo if you’re on the fence! The DK Country Returns HD demo is now available to download and features levels 1-1 Jungle Hijinxs, 1-4 Sunset Shore, and 1-6 Crazy Cart.
Donkey Kong Country Returns has now been released three separate times on three separate consoles: Wii, 3DS, and now Switch. It was even ported over to the Wii U. What’s interesting is this version is a remaster rather than a port of the original Wii version.
Our own Matthew Powers reviewed the remaster a few weeks ago, and while he enjoyed it, he wishes that it matched the quality of the Tropical Freeze port that was released on Switch for the price it retails at. He also appreciated that every Donkey Kong Country title is now on Switch, Donkey Kong hasn’t received a new game since Tropical Freeze, only receiving ports and remasters. There could always be a title waiting to be released on the Nintendo Switch 2, especially with the opening of Donkey Kong themed lands in Universal Studios in Japan and Florida.
