Super Mario RPG soundtrack up for pre-order, three versions available

Exciting news for fans — Super Mario RPG for the Nintendo Switch is getting a vinyl release! Titled the Super Mario RPG Soundtrack, this soundtrack is expected to release on April 14th, 2025. The box will contain four separate vinyls with a total of 61 tracks. (Please be aware that this collection is for the Switch version’s soundtrack and not the original SNES soundtrack.)

Even better, there appear to be three versions of the soundtrack available to purchase. The soundtrack, a vinyl box, and a sound box are available for pre-order.

Released back in November 2023, Super Mario RPG is a remake of the SNES game Super Mario: Legend of the Seven Stars. This was the game that started it all for Mario RPG games, and while it never got a proper sequel, both the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi franchises spawned off this one game. 

Both the RPG and Legend of the Seven Stars OSTs were composed by Yoko Shimomura, who has composed the soundtracks for all Mario & Luigi games excluding Brothership, as well was Xenoblade Chronicles, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and Final Fantasy XV. Her most significant contribution is the Kingdom Hearts games, where she has composed for 11 of the franchise’s entries.
