Nintendo Music has made its weekly update and with it comes 37 new tracks from Super Mario Kart, the game that started it all for the racing franchise! Super Mario Kart was released for the SNES back in 1992, with only eight characters and eight unique locations (20 total tracks with variations, such as four different Mario Circuits).
Nintendo Music features regular music from each track as well as the final lap versions, and results screen music for each character (which I didn’t even know existed). The entire selection is around 33 minutes long, with options to extend certain tracks to be a longer length.
The Super Mario Kart tracks come at a perfect time, as a new entry in the franchise was revealed last week in the Switch 2 presentation. As we enter a new era of Mario Kart, it’s nice to revisit the one that started it all!
