If you’re a big fan of EarthBound and Chuck Taylor’s, this latest collaboration is right up your alley. Coming straight from the Honobichi Mother Project Twitter account, a new Mother 2-themed pair of Converse High Tops was announced for sale in 2025. A pre-sale event will occur from January 9th, 2025, until January 15th, 2025, with the shoes eventually being sold in February.
The design for the shoes is minimalist with a white color scheme and black pixel art of Mr. Saturn, among some other bits of EarthBound visuals. As the official website notes, the style “gives a mature and smart impression.” They are absolutely fetching as hell and the contrast between white and black imbues them with a retro appeal.
The shoes will run you ¥13,200, or roughly $87.60 USD. Considering the regular price of Converse in the US can run anywhere from $45-70, that’s really not too bad for a special edition product. No sizes have been announced, however, so make sure to check before you pull the plug on this.
