Whenever a new Nintendo system launches it can be a mad dash to secure pre-orders and secure one for yourself. Thankfully, it sounds like the company is preparing ahead of this fiscal year’s highly anticipated Switch successor reveal.
As reported by VGC, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa’s main plan to mitigate scalping is to ship enough consoles to retailers to meet demand. The company is considering other methods, too, “taking into account the circumstances in each region”. This was discussed during a Q&A session with shareholders.
Furukawa also notes that the semiconductor shortages which resulted in many electronic devices over the past few years becoming harder to produce is no longer an issue.
The successor to the Nintendo Switch is expected to be revealed within this fiscal year, ending March 2025.
