Nintendo brought the summer games showcase season to a close with the their June Nintendo Direct this morning, and it was chock-full of great announcements. One of the most exciting reveals of the morning was the first look at a brand-new Legend of Zelda title, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Putting an end to years of explaining to confused parents that you don’t actually play as Zelda, Echoes of Wisdom finally gives players a chance to control the princess herself. It was announced that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will launch for Nintendo Switch on September 26th, and launching alongside it is a gorgeous new special-edition Nintendo Switch Lite.
Clad in gold, like many other Zelda-themed consoles before it, the Hyrule Edition Switch Lite is a sight to behold. Featuring black buttons and joysticks to complement the gold finish, the new handheld also features a small Triforce just under the right joystick while a triangle-patterned Hylian Crest adorns the back. With a few other Switches under my belt, I haven’t pulled the trigger on buying a Switch Lite but this beautiful new edition might be the one that pushes me over the edge.
The Nintendo Switch Lite: Hyrule Edition will be available on September 26th, 2024, alongside The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
