Most video game patches are so smooth and minute that you barely even register they’re there. It’s kinda the point, assuming you’re not dropping a huge update that adds new features. But it doesn’t always go so swimmingly — as is the case with the newest Nintendo Switch Sports patch, which, after a slate of reported crashes, has been pulled from distribution while Nintendo investigates/fixes it.

The reports are corroborated over on Reddit, where some folks use the opportunity to lambaste the rollout of the game in general (even though this wasn’t a big ticket update or the like). Nintendo notes that your system may ask for an update, even though the distribution of updates are currently suspended.

No word on when things will be fixed. Nintendo presumably will now rush to get ver.1.2.2 (or 1.2.1.1?) out as soon as possible. We’ll be sure to report first thing whenever that happens.
